Restoring clarity, balance, and mind-body alignment in times of change
Tanya Bowe, Psychologist Sunshine Coast
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected from yourself, or struggling to navigate the demands of work, relationships, parenting, or a major life transition?
I'm Tanya Bowe, a registered psychologist, Medicare Provider and organisational psychologist on the Sunshine Coast, providing evidence-based therapy and coaching for adults seeking meaningful and lasting change.
While my practice name, Nurturing Women Psychology, reflects my extensive experience and special interest in women's mental health for over 15 years, I also warmly welcome and work with men. My clients include women and men seeking support for anxiety, stress, disconnection from self, neurodivergence (ADHD & autism), relationship challenges, life transitions, workplace concerns, parenting, and personal growth.
I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, overcome obstacles, and create a life that feels more aligned with their values, strengths, and goals.
Sessions are available in person on the Sunshine Coast (Buderim) and Australia-wide via telehealth.
How can we help?
At Nurturing Women Psychology, we focus on the unique mental health challenges faced by women during the perinatal period. We provide tailored support to navigate the emotional, psychological, and physical transitions of pregnancy and postpartum, ensuring every woman feels seen, heard, and cared for during this significant life chapter.
In addition to perinatal care, we offer a range of services to support women at all stages of life. From managing stress and anxiety to navigating relationships and major life transitions, our practice is dedicated to empowering women with the tools they need to thrive.
As an endorsed organisational psychologist, we also provides professional coaching and leadership development programs. Tanya is particularly passionate about empowering professional women to thrive in their careers while maintaining mental well-being.
Professional women are less likely to proactively engage in psychological therapy, ask for help from loved ones and often minimise their experiences of distress. Instead, psychologists often see the tendency for these women to ‘try harder’, putting more pressure on themselves to ‘succeed’ as a mother. This ultimately has an impact on their experience of early parenting and their overall adjustment to parenthood in the first year.
This coaching helps to ensure women are prepared for the adjustment to parenthood and reintegration to the workplace, reducing the likelihood of stress about managing a career and a family, reducing the impact and pressure on the individual and their family unit, and ultimately reducing the risk of perinatal mental health issues.
We offer a number of workshops and programs focused on supporting women (and parents more generally) specifically through the perinatal phase.
This includes the Circle of Security® Parenting Program which is based on 50 years of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened, and how this type of early intervention can effect outcomes for the child across their lifespan.
The principles help you set the foundations for healthy, emotionally open relationships that apply across your child’s whole life. This has a significant impact on a child’s mental health later in life, increases their ability to regulate their emotions and has the potential to influence the relationship your children have with their own children.
With over 15 years of experience as a registered psychologist, Tanya has always had a passion for supporting clients to foster personal growth and meaningful change. She has a special interest in perinatal mental health, and supporting women through various life transitions.
Tanya takes a holistic, integrative approach, recognising the connection between emotional, physical, and relational well-being. She tailors therapy to individual needs, drawing on ACT, CBT, Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, self-compassion practices, somatic, mind-body strategies to promote well-being. She also facilitates the 8-week Circle of Security Parenting Program, supporting parents in building strong, secure relationships with their children.
As an endorsed organisational psychologist, Tanya also provides EAP services, executive coaching, and leadership development programs and corporate events. She is particularly passionate about empowering professional women to thrive in their careers while maintaining emotional well-being.

My Approach
I align to the perspective that many of our patterns in relationships, work, parenting, and self-worth develop early in life. I work with therapeutic tools that help identify these longstanding patterns and understand how they influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviours in your life. This deeper work creates meaningful and lasting change, as once we understand consciously what is driving our behaviour, we are better able to shift and release what no longer serves us. We do this, while honouring the protective nature of many of these unconscious patterns both somatically and emotionally.
Together we may explore:
Why certain situations trigger strong emotional reactions
Repeating relationship patterns
People-pleasing tendencies
Fear of failure or rejection
Difficulty prioritising your own needs
The origins of self-critical beliefs
My approach is warm, compassionate and collaborate. I combine evidence-based psychology with a holistic understanding of life transitions, identity, relationships, work, parenting and personal growth. Whilst my core approach is based in schema therapy, ACT and mind-body / nervous system approaches, I also integrate other evidence-based therapies including:
Mindfulness-Based Approaches
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Circle of Security Parenting Framework
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
Schema Therapy
Somatic Experiencing
Transpersonal Psychology
